COMMUNITY TRUST IMPROVING MCBRIDE'S RECREATION OPTIONS
MCBRIDE – Funding from the Community Development Trust’s Job Opportunities Program is improving McBride’s winter sports and year-round trail network, Community Development Minister Blair Lekstrom and Prince George-Mount Robson MLA and Deputy Premier Shirley Bond announced.

FOREST SAFETY & RECREATION IMPROVING AT HEFFLEY LAKE
KAMLOOPS – Funding totalling $230,000 from the Community Development Trust’s Job Opportunities Program is employing nine forest workers to reduce the risk of forest fires and expand recreation opportunities around Heffley Lake, Community Development Minister Blair Lekstrom and Kamloops-North Thompson MLA Kevin Krueger announced.

PROVINCE FUNDS TRAIL WATERFRONT SPIRIT SQUARE
TRAIL – A riverside viewing area complementing the proposed new Trail Civic Complex is getting $165,000 in funding from the B.C. Spirit Squares program, Community Development Minister Blair Lekstrom announced.

DOG CREEK RECEIVING $120,000 TO RESTORE GRASSLANDS
VICTORIA – The Canoe Creek Band will receive $120,500 through the Community Development Trust’s Job Opportunities Program to help protect and restore endangered grasslands of the Cariboo Chilcotin near 100 Mile House, Forests and Range Minister Pat Bell and Community Development Minister Blair Lekstrom announced.

LIKELY RECEIVES $150,000 TO IMPROVE RECREATION SITES
VICTORIA – Through the Job Opportunities Program, Likely is receiving $151,500 to improve trail access and new recreation facilities on Yanks Peak, Browntop Mountain and other local areas, Forests and Range Minister Pat Bell and Community Development Minister Blair Lekstrom announced.
