FORT ST. JOHN – Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources Minister Richard Neufeld's statement in response to the departure of BC Transmission Corporation president and CEO Jane Peverett:

NOVEMBER OIL AND GAS RIGHTS SALE GENERATES $114 MILLION
VICTORIA – The November sale of oil and gas rights resulted in a total of over $114 million in bonus bids. Yesterday’s sale brings the fiscal year-to-date total to over $2.2 billion, Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources Minister Richard Neufeld announced.

INVESTMENT MISSION TO BUILD CONFIDENCE AND CERTAINTY
VICTORIA – Asian investors will play a key role in the development and continued prosperity of B.C.’s minerals sector, said Gordon Hogg, Minister of State for Mining, as he prepared to leave for the 2008 Asia-Pacific investment mission.

PROVINCE TO SHARE MINING BENEFITS WITH FIRST NATIONS
VICTORIA – The Province has authorized its provincial negotiators to include revenue sharing with First Nations on new mining projects, Minister of State for Mining Gordon Hogg announced today. British Columbia is the first province in Canada to share direct revenue generated from mining.

OIL AND GAS WEEK RECOGNIZES GROWING INDUSTRY
FORT ST. JOHN – The Province has proclaimed Oct. 5-11 as Oil and Gas Week in B.C. in recognition of the record-breaking year in positive revenue and industry growth, announced Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources Minister Richard Neufeld.
