NEW FUNDS LAUNCH SMALL BUSINESS – THE NEXT GENERATION
KAMLOOPS – A pilot project to deliver training in small business succession planning in five rural communities received a $47,000 partnership grant from Small Business and Revenue Minister Kevin Krueger.

$5M FOR E&N CORRIDOR TAX RELIEF, TRANSPORTATION STUDY
VICTORIA – The B.C. government is committing $5 million to provide property tax relief along the E&N line and to fund a key study of rail options on southern Vancouver Island, Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Kevin Falcon and Small Business and Revenue Minister Kevin Krueger announced.

VICTORIA – A new member with strong business and community ties to the Bulkley Valley has been appointed to the Small Business Roundtable, announced Kevin Krueger, Minister of Small Business and Revenue.

PROPERTY OWNERS RETAIN RIGHT TO APPEAL 2009 ASSESSMENTS
VICTORIA – On Nov. 1, the provincial government announced it will maintain assessed property values for the 2009 assessment roll at the July 1, 2007 valuation date. The right to appeal is unchanged, and will continue to be available to any property owners who believe their assessments are too high, even at the July 1, 2007 level.
